Hi, I’m Chris.

I love the working class and skilled industries trades but after nearly 2 decades riding the wave of our local economy as an electrician, it was time to level up and evolve professionally.

I followed my creative roots and chased my childhood dream of becoming an industries trades writer.

When Timber was King!

As a timber industry kid, I grew up in the tail end of a long standing, owned and operated Southern Oregon family business.
Nights, weekends in our shop, and every summer out in the woods, we worked our asses off.

A fourth generation logger.

I had to “hustle every chance I got”, and “be light on my toes”.

I also heard,

“you have to run in for your job and run out to save your life!”

My first job title was,

“Choker Setter/choker dog”.

Later, discovering trade schools I certified as a heavy equipment operator and CDL holder. My grandpa retired for the last time and shocked at the loss of my dad's untimely death, I joined a crew of salty old school log truckers who showed me what it meant to survive on steep mountain roads and how to be successful industry trucking. I eventually was chasing helicopters, helicopter logging until 2007, right when the recession hit.

Electrical

at 27, with kids and a family of my own, I followed my grandpas' footsteps on my mother's side, and like him, became an electrician in the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).

My grandpa, Frost Electric, was also a business owner and the valleys leading electric motor repair shop for over 50 years, an electrician from the late 1940’s.

Electricity is a vast industry trade. Its good to find a niche. Know what your good at. I worked in the commercial, Industrial, and residential markets. Its where I found my technical creativity as a pipe bender, electrical system builder, and crew leader.

These last two decades as a family man in the working class industries in Southern Oregon, I’ve been determined to find that work life home life balance, staying local and being present. Between my two industry trades, I was able to never be too far from home, for very long.

At some point I began to look for a bridge between my two industries that would allow me to put my creative roots down, and approach all this from a different angle.

Back in the day, when I was a kid and wasn’t working at our shop or out in the woods logging, I loved skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding.

Quads and dirt bikes.

Sports.

I’d write poems, lyrics, draw, and read.

I love being creative, it can be interjected into everything.

How do I do that?

I needed to grow that creative muscle and infuse my past experiences to make it all work.

I started researching podcast shows, and became interested in online courses, and made my way through my book collection.

Thats when I found the direct response copywriting trade.

A trade of technically creative storytellers.

Back in the dusty cobwebs of my mind, I felt like I finally found it, what I wanted to do when I grew up.

But I’ve learned from many hours of trade school and past experiences that regardless of how serious I am about a dream, if I plan to be good it, it’s going to take work!

I knew this wasn’t going to be easy

So, I dove in

Right in to Copy Chief, a world class copywriting training center and community.

Not a place for hobbyist and hustlers but a place to hone my craft surrounded by seasoned writers and high-level marketers who give feedback so I can sharpen my skill.

I spent my early mornings, late nights, and weekends learning the foundations of high converting copywriting and marketing through trainings, coaching, and certifications.

I opened my shop to serve the skilled industry trades.

Ads and email marketing

A fun and powerful discipline that has the power to reach people regardless of niche or target audience. A trade that helps build businesses by putting their service or product right in front of the people who want to buy from them.

I'm excited for the future of this industry!

My five year goal is to continue growing my brand, have this amazing family business here in the great North West that I can pass on to the next generation. The same way my elders did for me.

With changes in technology, I don’t think our world will ever go back to the way it was before the internet.

The online industry will forever be apart of our daily lives.
